How Does this Work?

Shipping to American Federal

You will receive detailed shipping instructions from your broker. Once your metals have arrived in our office, please allow 3-5 business days for processing.

We mail payment checks first class through the U.S. Postal Service.

Want to deliver in person?

Yes, we are happy to meet with you face to face.  We are open Monday through Friday 9am to 5pm.  We love it when you call ahead so we can roll out the red carpet.

Payments to American Federal

We accept e-checks, EFT (electronic funds transfers), bank wires, personal checks and cash.  We will lock-in a new client order with a credit card to hold the price, but our goal is not to “run it.”  We try to keep our prices low and we do not want to pass on the credit card service charges to you, our client.


Once a purchase is locked in with your broker, orders cannot be cancelled.  The product is yours regardless if the price goes up or down before you receive your metals.

Payment must be made by e-check, bank wire or check.  We require a credit card hold until your payment has arrived and has cleared.

Once payment arrives and has cleared our banking system, your coins will be shipped to you via the U.S. Postal Service.

Payment to You

Payments for precious metals sold to American Federal are paid via check mailed first class through the U.S. Postal Service.  A stop payment and re-issuance of a lost check will occur after 45 days.  If you need funds quickly alternative options such as FedEx, wire, EFT or registered mail are available for the incurred cost, please speak with your broker to arrange payment.

Shipping to You

We ship through the U.S. Postal Service.  Your precious metals or rare coins will be registered and insured.  We will provide you with a tracking number, so you are prepared to sign for your package.

Please feel free to call us if you do not have a tracking number.

Coin Appraisal Timeline

We offer a Coin Portfolio Review as a complimentary service.  We believe passionately all collectors and investors should know the value of their portfolio in today’s current market.  We are happy to help you on that journey but please be patient and give us some time.  An extensive collection can take a couple of weeks.  Please provide us with a good contact phone number and we will connect with you as soon as we have completed the evaluation.
